Bee and PuppyCat is an American adult animated streaming television series. The series revolves around Bee, an unemployed woman in her early twenties, who encounters a mysterious creature named PuppyCat. She adopts this apparent cat-dog hybrid, and together they go on a series of temporary jobs to pay off her monthly rent. These bizarre jobs take the duo across strange worlds out in space!
Oddballs is an animated adventure-comedy streaming television series created by James Rallison and Ethan Banville for Netflix. It follows James, a bubble-shaped kid who goes on bizarre adventures with his best friends; a dim-witted crocodile named Max, and, a time-travelling girl named Echo. During each episode, James's rants and questioning of social norms often end up in a disaster.
It tells the story of James. His observations on life fuel his comedic rants at everyday inconveniences and elevates them to absurd heights!
If you're looking for a show that will put a smile on your face, "Oddballs" is definitely worth checking out!

DC Superheroes refers to a range of fictional characters that are part of the DC Comics universe. Some of the most well-known DC Superheroes include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and many others.
DC Superheroes have been featured in a wide variety of media, including comic books, movies, TV shows, video games, and more, and have become an iconic part of popular culture around the world.
Marvel is a company that creates superhero stories in comics, movies, and TV shows. Some of their famous characters include Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, and The Avengers. These characters have special powers or skills that they use to fight against villains and save the world. Marvel stories are full of exciting adventures and lessons about teamwork, bravery, and doing what's right. Kids can enjoy Marvel comics and movies with their families and learn important values from their favorite superheroes!

School life can be an exciting and challenging experience for students. It is a period of learning, growth, and development that shapes a person's future.
Teachers and staff play a vital role in a student's academic and personal development. They provide guidance and support, offer feedback and encouragement, and create a positive learning environment.
School life is not just about academic learning, though. It is also a time for children to develop social skills and make friends. They learn how to interact with their peers, negotiate conflict, and work collaboratively on projects. Extracurricular activities such as sports, music, and theater provide additional opportunities for socializing and developing new skills.
In summary, school life is an important and formative experience for children. It provides them with the knowledge, skills, and social connections they need to succeed in their adult lives.
A family member is someone in your family, like your mom, dad, brother, sister, grandma, grandpa, aunt, or uncle. They are related to you by blood or marriage, and they are people who love and care for you. Family members are usually the people you spend a lot of time with and who are there for you when you need help or support. Dinosaurs were prehistoric creatures that lived on Earth millions of years ago. They were reptiles, which means they were cold-blooded, had scales, and laid eggs. There were many different kinds of dinosaurs, and they came in all shapes and sizes.
Dinosaurs first appeared on Earth about 245 million years ago and disappeared about 66 million years ago.
Do you know that the word dinosaurs come from the Greek language? “Deinos” meaning fearfully great, and “sauros”, meaning lizards. Dinosaur fossils have been found on all seven continents!
Although dinosaurs are extinct, we can still learn a lot from them. They are fascinating creatures that have captured the imagination of people of all ages!
Last week, our students learnt the difference and similarities on the North and South Poles and also learnt that not all animals can live in these 2 poles! The similarities between the North and South Poles is that they are both covered with ice and are the coldest places on earth. Brrr… So, what animals lives In the South Pole? Well, you can see different species of Penguins, Whales, Leopard seal and birds like South Polar Skua! On the other hand, Polar bears, Arctic Fox, Walrus and Narwhal lives in the North Pole! After identifying the kind of animals to draw, our students moved on to the creating the background. They drew ice mountains and floating ice caps to complete the artwork! 🐻❄️🐧🧊🦭☃️

An aquarium is a vivarium of any size having at least one transparent side in which aquatic plants to animals are kept and displayed. In Singapore, S.E.A. Aquarium is one of the world’s largest aquariums, home to more than 100,000 marine animals representing 1,000 species across more than 40 diverse habitats. Our students shared with us their experience and what they observed. Did you know that our aquarium is divided into 10 zones? It is designed such that it represents the different oceans of the world! 🐙🐳🐬🦈
Chinese Zodiac came about when the Jade Emperor decided there should be a way of measuring time and told the animals that there was a swimming race. The first twelve animals to cross the fast flowing river would be the winner and they would each have a year of the zodiac named after them. To help students understand better while drawing it, they get to watch a video of the story.

Happy New Year to all of you! Hope you had a good rest day and recharged for 2023!
For last week’s cartoon drawing session, our student shared a few activities that they did together with their families. Some of it are, picnic, travelling, shopping and game arcades. Why is Family Day important? Family Day provides an opportunity for us to reconnect with our loved ones and spend time with them as a family. It is to show love, appreciation, and respect for families willing to sacrifice everything to provide them with the comforts they need. Share with us, how do you spend your holidays with your families!
Hobby is considered to be a regular activity that is done for enjoyment, usually on their free time. It can be like, reading, playing sports, doing arts and crafts and many more! We got the students involved by asking them to share their hobbies with their classmates! Tell us, what do you like to do during your leisure time?
Sports is a form of physical activity that aims to use, maintain, or improve physical ability and skills while providing enjoyment to spectators. There are many types of sports throughout the world. For example, basketball, badminton, soccer and more!
Our students learnt how to apply basic shapes to draw human cartoon, after which, learnt how to draw the background according to the sport activity that they chose.
Some of them also shared their experience with sports in school; CCA and during PE (Physical Education) Not only that, as FIFA World Cup is the hot topic right now, some of our students also shared what they watched to their classmates. Tell us, what is your favourite sports!

Pokémon is a Japanese media franchise managed by The Pokémon Company, a company founded by Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures. The franchise was created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1996 and is centered on fictional creatures called "Pokémon". In Pokémon, humans, known as Pokémon Trainers, catch and train Pokémon to battle other Pokémon for sport. Most of our students chose to draw Pikachu. Pikachu is a yellow, mouse-like creature with electrical abilities, and it is cute too! Let us know what your favourite Pokémon characters are!
Sanrio Company, Ltd. is a Japanese company that designs, licenses, and produces products focusing on the kawaii segment of Japanese popular culture. Their products include stationery, school supplies, gifts, and accessories which are sold worldwide, including at specialty brand retail stores in Japan. Sanrio’s best-known character is Hello Kitty, a little cartoon girl cat and one of the most successful marketing brands in the world. Some other characters are Cinnamoroll, Dear Daniel, My Melody and Pompompurin. Tell us, which ones are your favourite!

Ghibli Studio is a Japanese animation studio headquartered in Koganei, Tokyo. It is best known for its animated feature films, and has also produced several short subjects, television commercials, and two television films. Its mascot and most recognizable symbol is a character named Totoro, a giant spirit inspired by raccoon dogs (tanuki) and cats from the 1988 anime film My Neighbor Totoro.
Another famous show from this animation studio is Ponyo. The film tells the story of Ponyo, a goldfish who escapes from the ocean and is rescued by a five-year-old human boy, Sosuke after she is washed ashore while trapped in a glass jar. As they bond with each other, the story deals with resolving Ponyo's desire to become a human girl, against the devastating circumstances brought about by her acquisition and use of magic.
Toei Animation is a Japanese animation studio primarily controlled by its namesake Toei Company. It has produced numerous series, including Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Slam Dunk, Digimon, One Piece, The Transformers (between 1984–1990, including several Japanese exclusive productions) and the Precure series.
Our students decided to do characters from One Piece and Digimon for last week’s cartoon drawing session!
One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda.
The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a boy whose body gained the properties of rubber after unintentionally eating a Devil Fruit. With his pirate crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy explores the Grand Line in search of the deceased King of the Pirates Gol D. Roger's ultimate treasure known as the "One Piece" to become the next King of the Pirates.
Digimon is a Japanese media franchise encompassing virtual pet toys, anime, manga, video games, films and a trading card game. The franchise focuses on the eponymous creatures, who inhabit a "Digital World", a parallel universe that originated from Earth's various communication networks.
Last week’s Cartoon Drawing, our students drew their favourite cartoon shows; Paw Patrol, Teen Titans Go! Or Spongebob Squarepants.
Paw Patrol is a Canadian computer-animated children’s television series created by Keith Chapman. Paw Patrol is a show featuring a 10-year-old puppy. Each dog has a specific set of skills based on emergency services professions, such as firefighter, police officer, an aviation pilot and more!
Next in line we have Teen Titans Go! It is an American animated television series developed for Cartoon Network. It serves as a comedic standalone spin-off with little to no continuity to the original Teen Titans series. This series is about superheroes (Robin, Cyborg, Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy) who loves saving the world from crimes. Each superheroes have their own superpowers.
Finally, an animated series that has been around since 1999, Spongebob Squarepants! It is also an American animated comedy television series. A square yellow sponge names Spongebob lives in a pineapple with his pet snail named Gary, in the city of Bikini Bottom on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. He works as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab and on his time off, he loves attracting trouble with his best friend Patrick. From these 3 different animated series, who’s your favourite character? We are pretty sure that you know what Angry Birds and My Little Pony are! They have been around for quite a while now and has gained interests children from all over the world!
Angry Birds started off as a gameplay, now they even have televised animated series and 2 films! In Angry Bird’s gameplay’s main goal is to have the birds save the eggs from the green-coloured pigs, but in the movie, both birds and pigs are forced to team up when an advanced weapon threatens both Bird and Piggy Islands. Go watch It if you haven’t!
My Little Pony has been around for more than a decade! It is an animated children’s television series where all of the ponies goes for an adventure around Equestria, solving problems with their friendships. Each ponies have their own unique characteristics and superpowers. Which is your favourite one? Let us know!
Have you watched Luca? Luca is an American animated drama film produced by Pixar released on June 18, 2021. Fun fact, this animated film was supposed to be released to the theatre, but due to the pandemic, they decided to release it to Disney+! The movie depicts a young boy experiencing unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, Alberto. Both hold a deep secret; they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface. With this theme, most of our students learned the different elements to add to the background; seaweed, cave, shipwreck and more!

Deepavali, also known as Diwali or Festival of Lights, is one of the major cultural festivals in Singapore. It is a celebration that marks the triumph of good over evil.
Thousands of Hindu families in the city and across the world, transform their homes into beacons of light, exchange gifts, share feasts and perform prayers. Although Deepavali is months ahead, this Cartoon Drawing helps them understand the festive theme more in depth and knows what kind of elements to add into their artwork. Teachers also have their students share their Deepavali experience to their classmates. For example, the rituals they do, the food/snacks that they indulge in and also the decorative pieces they put up around the house!
Halloween is a holiday celebrated each year on October 31, ad Halloween 2022 will occur on Monday, October 31st. The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would like bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts.
It is a time when people dress up in costumes, go trick-or-treating, and carve jack-o’-lanterns from hollowed out pumpkins. Ghosts and witches are popular costumes of the children who go from house to house saying. “Trick-or-treat!”. Though it is not really celebrated amongst the Singaporeans, but we do have places where they organized a Halloween party such as Universal Studios, SAFRA, Sentosa etc.. Yes… This year’s Chinese New Year was long overdue, but during this Cartoon Drawing, our students learnt how to create one of the many festive themes which in turn will help them with building their stories for their art book! The questions ask for the students were “what is the zodiac animal for this year?” “What do you bring over when visiting your relatives?” “What kind of decorative pieces do you hang at home?” This helps their creative juices to flow and be able to think of a few elements to incorporate to their artwork!
Another week of Mythical creatures! On this week’s mythical creatures, our students learnt how to draw Mermaids and Phoenix! We’re pretty sure that that everyone knows what mermaids are right? Mermaid is a mythical sea-dwelling creature, often described as having the head and body of a woman and a fish’s tail below the waist. So, what does Mermaids symbolizes? Some cultures portray mermaids as good and helpful, some portray as mischievous and playful, or even destructive and territorial. Sailors are encouraged to avoid them as much as possible and be cautious when they encounter such events.
The Phoenix. Known to be a majestic bird-like creature that lived in Paradise, which was known to live a good life. It was also known that it could never truly die. However, it was possible for the creature to be reborn. Most accounts of the Phoenix describe it as being red and yellow in coloration, though there are many variations. All that is known is that the appearance of the mighty bird was unlike any other and that is stood out because of its features.
A Mythical creature refers to a type of fictional entity, typically a hybrid, that has not bee proven, but may be featured in historical before modernity.
This week’s mythical creatures, our students learnt how to draw a Unicorn and Dragon! Unicorn is a mythological animal resembling a horse with a single horn on its forehead. Up till today, many still loves unicorn because of its beautiful and colourful hair strands. Unicorns symbolizes divine love, grace, beauty, gentleness, and purity. It was believed that only a truly pure soul can see the unicorn.
A dragon however is quite the opposite. It is a reptile-like legendary creature that appears in the folklore of many cultures worldwide. It if often depicted as winged, horned, four-legged and capable of breathing fire!

We asked our students what is transportation? They answered Cars! Buses! Trains! Bicycle! What mode of transportation do you always use to get from one place to another? Some of our students added eyes to the cars to give it some character! Once that is done, we decided to throw in ideas for the background! Some wanted Candyland! Halloween!
Last week’s Cartoon Drawing, our student came up with their own design for our very own mascot, Globbie! Throughout the session, the teachers shared with our students on how many Global Art centres are there worldwide and island wide. Many thought that there are only a few, but no, we have over 600 centres worldwide! Our students came up with a theme and designed their very own Globbie including a suitable background!

Minecraft is a sandbox video game developed by Majong Studios. In Minecraft, everything is 3D! You can discover and extract raw materials, build structures and simple machines! The game modes include a survival mode, in which players must acquire resources to build the world and maintain health. Many of our students played Minecraft and they enjoyed their drawing session last week as they get to be more involved in giving ideas to their classmates and teachers!
Mario is a character created by Japanese video game designer. Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. Mario is depicted as a fictional short, Italian plumber who resides in the Mushroom Kingdom. Super Mario started off as a 2D game and then it evolves to 3D which many of us saw on the internet or game consoles. There are many characters in this Super Mario world. From Princess Peach to Boo to Yoshi! Which ones are your favourite?

Universal Studio Singapore (USS) is a gigantic theme park located on Sentosa Island of Singapore which features 24 exhilarating rides with 7 theme zones! Even adults will go berserk in this theme park! After asking our students what kind of rides is their favourite one, most of them said Puss in Boots’ Giant Journey rollercoaster! Most of them saw Minions walking around the entrance of USS along with other characters like Elmo from Sesame Street and Mickey Mouse! What’s your favourite ride? Let us know!
Disneyland is an amusement park which first opened in California in 1955. It is the only one designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. Do you know that Disneyland has a larger cumulative attendance than any other theme park in the world? In 2018, the park had approximately 18.6 million visits, making it the second most visited amusement park in the world that year. There are 6 Disneylands altogether in the whole world! When you hear the word Marvel or DC, what comes to your mind? Superheroes? Yes! Marvel and DC are 2 big comic industries which influenced into the movie industry too.
DC Comics first began in 1934, while Marvel started in 1939. DC Comics mainly featured Detectives Comics series while Marvel featured various superheroes like Captain America etc. DC Comic characters mostly had their powers from birth or from gods. For example; Superman who has Kryptonian right at birth, Wonder Woman; a daughter of Zues who has the divine power of the God of War Ares.
While Marvel characters features more realistic characters that can be partly explained by science. For example, Spider Man; through radioactive spider bites, Iron Man; a genius scientist who is a powerful hero with his suit. These are just some examples to differentiate between Marvel and DC characters! So, what are your favourite superheroes? Let us know!
Make Every Drop Count with Water Wally & Sally!
Water Wally is the name of the official Singapore Public Board #PUBsg mascot. He conveys messages about water conservation & usage to the public. While Water Sally, she travels the seven seas and witnesses many water crisis around the world and is eager to share her knowledge on water sustainability to the public together with his brother Wally.

You must be wondering why lions represents England, though lions are not native to that area. Well, back to the Norman dynasty, it was believed that it represents courage and strength. You can also mainly see the 3 lions on the shirt of football team.
Next, we have the bald eagle. The bald eagle has been the national bird of the United States since 1782. Bald eagles, like other eagles worldwide, had been seen by many as symbols of strength, courage, freedom and immortality for generations. And, unlike other eagles, the bald eagle was indigenous only to North America.

Last week’s cartoon drawing, our students venture out to India and Egypt! These 2 countries has a very significant animal that represents their country; Elephant and Camel! Did you know that Indian elephants can produce 99kg of dung per day? That’s because they spend up to 19 hours a day feeding themselves. They mainly feed on grasses, but large amount of tree bark, roots, leaves and small stems.
Do you know how many camels are there in Egypt currently? There are about 95,000 of them! Although that there are million more in Africa, camels in Egypt holds a significant, iconic part in Egyptian landscape. Camels are known for their endurance and ability to cope with the lack of water and heat. Despite that, they are still used for transportation and as a tourist attraction in the shadows of the pyramids.
Last week’s cartoon drawing, our students drew animals according to 2 countries, Japan and China. When we think of these 2 countries, what kind of animals pops up to your mind? Yes, you’re right! Deer and Panda! You can find mostly Sika Deer in Japan. Sika deer’s summer range is generally larger than its winter range. Sika deer have a white rump and white spots on their back.
The giant panda lives in a few mountain ranges in central China, mainly in Sichuan, but also neighbouring Shaanxi and Gansu. As a result of farming, deforestation, and other development, the giant panda has been driven out of the areas. Did you know that wild pandas do not only feed on bamboos? They also occasionally eat meat, in a form of birds or fishes!

The Frog Prince is a fairy tale, best known through the Brothers Grimm’s written version; traditionally the first story in their collection. If you haven’t heard or read about Frog Prince, it is a tale involving the princess and the frog. The spoilt princess reluctantly befriends the Frog Prince, whom she met after dropping a golden ball into a pond under a tree, and the frog retrieves it for her in exchange for her friendship. The Frog Prince, who was under a wicked fairy’s spell, magically transforms back into a handsome prince.
Do you know that the original version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears does not feature the young girl’s name Goldilocks? In fact, it was an old woman with silver hair! After the original publication, the author and readers thought it was not very appealing to children, so he changed it to a young girl. It is in fact one of the oldest Nursey tales up till to this date! If you have yet to watch these 2 tales, you should! Great life lesson to pick up from these tales!
Have you heard/read the story of The Ugly Duckling and Pinocchio? These 2 are one of the older tales on earth! The Ugly Duckling is a Danish literary fairy tale by a Danish poet and author Hans Christian Anderson. It was first published on 11th November 1843. The tale has been adapted to various media including opera, musical and animated film!
On the other hand, Pinocchio is an Italian fictional character of children’s novel, The Adventures of Pinocchio which was published in 1883 by and Italian writer Carlo Collodi. Pinocchio is a cultural icon. He is one of the most reimagined characters in children’s literature. This story has been adapted into many media, notably the 1940 Disney film called Pinocchio. Do you know that Pinocchio is a combination of 2 Italian words? Pino (pine) and occhio (eye). If you have yet to watch these 2 tales, you should! Great life lesson to pick up from these tales!

Confectionaries are basically something sweet or chocolatey! It is also a place where sweets and chocolate are made or sold. It can be in many forms, like donuts, lollipops, cupcakes and more! Who doesn’t love sweet desserts right? For last week’s cartoon drawing, our students turned their sweets desserts to life!
Fast food! Who doesn’t love fast food right? But did you know why is it called fast food? It is because fast food is a type of mass-produced food designed with a strong priority of “speed service” compared to those in a fancy restaurant involved culinary science. Fast food was created as a commercial strategy to target busy commuters, travellers and workers who often did not have the time to sit down and wait for their meal. There are many fast food restaurants here in Singapore, like Mc Donald’s, Burger King, KFC, Subway, Jollibee and more! What is your favourite go-to fast food restaurant and what meal do you always order? Let us know!
Playing with toys can be an enjoyable means of training young children for life experiences. For instances, a small child may fold an ordinary piece of paper into an airplane shape and “fly it”. However, newer forms of toys are starting to come out, which includes interactive digital entertainment and smart toys. Last week’s cartoon drawing is on Disney characters! So.. what exactly is Disney? Well, Disney was originally founded on October 16, 1923 by the brothers Walt and Roy O. Disney. They came up with a few production names and in 1986, they settled with The Walt Disney Company in 1986. We are pretty sure you can name a few characters! It ranges from old-school Mickey Mouse series to now, animated cartoon characters like the princesses and animals! Lets see what characters our students drew!

The outbreak of Covid-19 means that the best thing for not yourself but others is to stay at home sot keep yourself healthy, stop the spread of the virus, save lives and ease the pressure on healthcare workers. So how should you spend your time at home? How do you keep your mind occupied when you can’t go out? Instead of whiling away the hours scrolling through social media, (which has been shown to have negative impact on mental health) why not try something new? Hobbies are a great way to keep your mind and body healthy.
As we are students of the arts, you can spend your time practicing/enhancing/maintaining your skills through drawing or painting! Just get ready your scrapbook or canvas and start working on your creativity! There are tons of tutorials out there and you might surprise yourself with what you’re able to create.
Whilst playing video games all day is probably not the healthiest way to spend your time indoors, gaming has been shown to bring cognitive benefits, eg: multi-tasking, problem solving skills etc.. Do remember to pick the right game! There are games out there that has multi-players to hat you can enjoy it together with your families! Let us know what your favourite indoor hobbies are!

We’ve been locked up in our homes enough lately trying to avoid exposure to the coronavirus. It is time to make plans to get outside, get some fresh are and make some new memories. Do you know that when you get outside in nature, you consume more oxygen, which releases serotonin In your brain and allows your body to function less effort? Plus, it can also improve your blood pressure and digestion! There are a few outdoor hobbies that we could do in Singapore! Hiking, fishing, cycling/rollerblading at the beach or even go for a run at the park!
